MARCH 2015Mapi Research Trust selected to distribute electronic versions of QOL Technologies Questionnaires

Lyon, France — 15 September 2015Mapi Research Trust was selected to be the exclusive licensor and distributor for the electronic versions of Professor Elizabeth Juniper’s Asthma Control Questionnaire and her Asthma and Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaires, previously only available through her company QOL Technologies Ltd. (QOL Tech).

Mapi Research Trust, the leading curator and license distributor of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) has partnered with QOL Tech to be the exclusive distributor for the electronic versions of Prof. Juniper’s questionnaires. QOL Tech remains the copyright holder and distributor for the user packages of these questionnaires. The Mapi Research Trust will maintain Prof. Juniper’s high standards and requirements for the development and use of the electronic versions to assure continuity of these instruments’ integrity and the relevance of the data collected.

"Adapting validated paper Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) for electronic data capture requires in-depth understanding of health status measurement methodology to ensure that data collected electronically are valid and can be interpreted accurately both in clinical practice and research." Said Prof. Juniper "For this reason QOL Tech has always required all new devices, developed by IT companies, to be validated for each of our PROs before a license is issued. The only permitted on-line versions of our questionnaires are those we have validated ourselves. The MAPI Research Trust has this depth of understanding measurement through over 2 decades of adapting validated PROs for new languages. To ensure that our high quality of ePROs is maintained so that all users can have confidence in the data they collect, we have entered into an agreement for the MAPI Research Trust to take over the licensing and management of all our ePROs in all languages."

"We are honored by this appointment to continue and expand our longstanding relationship with Professor Juniper and QOL Tech. Today’s therapeutics market is driven by patient outcomes and treatment value proven by real-world evidence. Professor Juniper’s questionnaires are regarded highly for their integrity and accuracy in measuring health-related quality of life in Asthma and Rhinoconjunctivitis. These questionnaires help researchers and life-science companies demonstrate patient value." Said Katrin Conway, Mapi Research Trust’s Managing Director. "It is the mission of the non-profit Mapi Research Trust to enable collaborations between questionnaire developers, clinicians, academic and commercial researchers assuring quality and integrity of the instruments through safeguarding the copyrights and licensing support of questionnaires and their derivatives."
