Developing a clinical development program that places patients at the forefront requires an understanding of the experience of living with a condition that cannot be gleaned through secondary sources. While first-person patient or caregiver input is highly desired, it can be difficult to obtain given the rarity of the condition and, at times, the symptoms or severity of the condition itself.
To supplement patient/caregiver input (or replace it, if absolutely necessary), Advocacy Leaders can provide much-needed insight into the patient and caregiver experience. Their input can be used to inform all steps along a patient-centric clinical development pathway.
This session will outline methodologies for engaging Advocacy Leaders early and often in the clinical development process. Examples of how Advocacy Leader input has impacted clinical trial design and operations will be provided. The speaker will also provide insights into how obtaining this valuable input will increase the probability of a successful clinical trial.
